Shadow Dragu-Mihai - Director

Shadow Dragu-Mihai is an award-winning director of feature film, short form/series and live theatre.

Shadow has a special affinity for dramatically difficult material, such as heaily poetic-based or stylized work. In this vein, Shadow was the first (and only) director in 30 years to produce and direct a professional produciton of the historic and iconic for colored girls who have considered suicide \when the rainbow is enuf in Los Angles. The Tony and Obie Award winning play is the iconic work which created the unique choreopoem form of theatre. His production, with of all-original music compposed by Carrie Cain  Sparks, (who also played Red), and co- starred Niketa Calame (Lion King) and rapper/radio personality Constance "Buttacup" Reese.

Shadow's debut feature (as director) has been rereleased on Amazon, and is available for streaming or download. In Bashing, Francis Besson (Ajmal) is a young fighter managed by his Sister Egypt (Carrie Cain Sparks). Their boxing champion father Gerome Besson (Kim Estes) wants nothing to do with his kids glory dreams. Egypt struggles to rise to the top in a male dominated sport. When Francis is brutally outed as Gay by rivals, the team ends up stuck in the underground fight arena with low lives & thugs, where the rules are never written & money exchanges hands quickly, where anything goes and only the strong survive.
